Woman Charged After Allegedly Pouring Urine on Autistic Victim in Her Care

A woman in Plainfield, Connecticut, is facing a long list of charges after authorities say she engaged in years of abusive behavior toward an individual with autism under her care — including allegedly pouring urine on their head.

According to WFSB reporting, 59-year-old Lisa Neal was arrested after an anonymous complaint launched a police investigation in April. Investigators found that Neal had allegedly denied the victim bathroom access, forcing them to urinate in a trash can. She then allegedly poured the urine over the victim’s head and prevented them from changing their clothes.

Authorities believe the abuse had been ongoing for several years while Neal acted as the individual’s caretaker. The victim was also allegedly subjected to financial exploitation. Police say Neal coerced the victim into withdrawing their monthly disability benefits and handing them over to her.

The charges against Neal are severe and numerous, including:

  • Intentional cruelty to a person
  • Third-degree assault of a person with an intellectual disability
  • Second-degree unlawful restraint
  • Second-degree intimidation based on bigotry or bias
  • First-degree larceny by extortion
  • Fourth-degree money laundering
  • Second-degree larceny by false pretenses
  • Second-degree abuse of persons
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Interfering with a police investigation

Neal was held on a $150,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in court on May 27. Authorities say the case is ongoing, and further legal proceedings will determine next steps.
