Urine-Wielding Rooftop Standoff Ends in Assault Charge

Sometimes the phrase "you can't make this up" doesn't do justice to reality. Late Wednesday night in Mobile, Alabama, a man armed with a machete scaled the roof of a Murphy USA gas station and hurled threats—and bodily fluids—at emergency responders.

According to WPMI News, Mobile Police arrived at the scene around 11:19 p.m. after receiving reports of a man on top of the building. What they encountered was not your average rooftop trespasser: the subject brandished a machete, refused to comply with police orders, and ultimately escalated the standoff by throwing a bottle of urine at Mobile Fire-Rescue personnel.

Officers attempted to negotiate with the suspect, but he responded with threats and even caused property damage to the gas station. Eventually, Mobile Fire-Rescue intervened to help officers access the roof, where the suspect charged and injured one officer during the confrontation.

While the injured officer was taken to a hospital with minor injuries, the suspect was also hospitalized for evaluation. Charges are pending, but police have already listed Assault, Assault with Bodily Fluids, and Criminal Mischief. His name will be released once he's transferred to jail.

Although throwing a bottle of urine might sound like the stuff of comedy sketches, the reality is much more serious. Assaulting emergency responders with bodily fluids isn’t just gross—it’s dangerous, and in many states, it's a felony offense. Add in the machete and rooftop theatrics, and it’s clear this wasn’t a simple misunderstanding.
