New Detox Center in Henrico County Targets Opioid Crisis Head-On

A Flexible, Community-First Detox Facility

Built through a public-private partnership between the county and Pyramid Healthcare, the facility will offer:

• 10 beds for intensive detox (typically 3–5 days)
• 50 beds for up to 30 days of inpatient treatment
• Flexibility to shift beds based on community needs
• A gymnasium and supportive services onsite

Pyramid Healthcare, headquartered in Altoona, PA, brings experience operating facilities across seven states, including several in Virginia. Under a 30-year lease agreement, Pyramid will run the Henrico center at no cost to the county, while the $10.7 million construction is being covered by county funds.
